Australian government accuses China of state-sponsored hacking
The Australian government – along with allies in the United States and United Kingdom – has accused Beijing of a major cyber-attack on Microsoft software. It has been alleged Chinese state-sponsored hackers compromised 400,000 servers across the world including in Australia. The ministers for home affairs, defence and foreign affairs released a statement last night, joining international partners to condemn the activities. The unprecedented move was coordinated with allies in the US, Britain, New Zealand, Canada and the Europe Union.
