Cyber security analyst and co-founder of Internet 2.0 Robert Potter says China, unlike Australia, sees cyber-attacks as “somewhere in between peace and war”. “Everything that we’ve seen from China in terms of their aggression over the last six months ramping up trade tensions with Australia – Taiwan experiences that dialed up to 11,” Mr Potter told Sky News. “And so, Xi Jinping seems to be trying to increase the level of pressure on Taiwan to make it feel isolated and to make it feel like its eventual re-entry into China is just an inevitability”.
