Karen Dawson has spoken to Sky News host Paul Murray about her grandfather, Harry James Dawson, who served for Australia in the First World War. Each year Ms Dawson marches proudly on Anzac Day in her grandfather’s honour. “It’s interesting isn’t how, how as we age, we sort of become a little bit more interested and those stories become a lot more important to us,” Ms Dawson said. Ms Dawson recounted some of her grandfather’s heroic stories. “He was a very astute man; he was a very sensible man”. Ms Dawson said marching in her grandfather’s honour “is amazing”. “I think he would be very proud”. “I hope that he is aware of the immense pride that I hold for him”.
